Eleven good links

The Internet never stops for a heartbeat so there’s always more content to be found each and every day. One person couldn’t possibly find all the good stuff so that’s why we share. Share our discoveries, no point keeping it all to yourself. Always new stuff at my del.icio.us account.

Let’s see what links there are to find.

Google 2001 Index. As Google reaches their 10th birthday they thought it’d be a great idea to put up their earliest index and open access to their earliest cache. It’s amazing to see how the web has progressed.

Wario YouTube Advert. Never seen such a great way to interact with what would otherwise be another boring YouTube game advertisement. What makes it all the sweeter is that you can play around with the broken objects that gather at the bottom of your browser. Chrome doesn’t seem to like it too much so try it out in Firefox or IE.

Just Tweet It. Finding like minded people on Twitter can be a difficult task with its millions of users. With Just Tweet It you can add your name to their directory and browse for others in categories that suit you. A recent development it’s a great way of finding people.

15 Amazing Photoshop Text Effects. Well it’s been awhile but I used StumbleUpon for the first time in ages and the first result was an excellent collection of text effect tutorials. I should use SU, shame there isn’t a plug-in for it other than the web based one.

Portfolio of Justin M. Muller (Superlover). The whole point of a portfolio is to show off your work and I feel this designer does an excellent job of it; beautiful brightly colour and high fidelity. His work isn’t to be ignored either.

Portfolio of Dave Werner (OkayDave). I’m generally not a fan of Flash websites but this designer’s work is impressive, and the execution of the website is good too, I especially like how you can hover over his logo work to see his process of thoughts for it.

50 Dirty, Filthy Grunge Photoshop Effects. This is a monster of a list collecting together so many brilliant tutorials to add a bit of grunge and roughness to your designs. If you’re not into clean slick vector designs then this list will be of great help.

EepyBird’s Sticky Note experiment. I think this is a great use of PostIt notes, colourful and bright, wouldn’t like to have been the ones putting it all together.

TweetStats. Everyone uses Twitter these days it seems and I’m the sort of person who likes stats and graphs so combining the two produces some interesting results. See when you’re most likely to Tweet and who’s replying the most.

Garamond Powerlines. You might have already seen this in places like iloveyypography.com but I thought I’d post it here as well, lovely recreations of a good old fashion font. Thought I’d spell my name out as an example.

17 Most Desirable Designs Collection. Well design blogging is just full of links isn’t it? Here I am passing on a link that leads to a collection of collections of examples of excellent design links. Confusing stuff but there is some great ideas to be had there.

Now I realise that you might remember seeing these from a couple of weeks ago, well that’s because I’ve been busy and this post has been forming over the past severals weeks and I’ve only just gotten round to finishing up to the magic number 11.

Thanks

Well I hoped you enjoyed having a look at his work as much as I do. Hope you have a look at my other posts. Or keep track of me through one of these social services.
