Guilherme Marconi

When it comes to mind bogglingly detailed background using glorious bright vectors I’m very much a fan of this guy. The effect may be simple enough to make, copy and paste and arrange but it’s getting the elements to work together well and feel coherent that’s important.

So let’s have a look at Guilherme Marconi’s work.

It was quite awhile ago that I discovered this guy whilst working on a University project and he’s since launched a flash based website, but I won’t hold that against him. I’m not much of a fan of too much flash. Guilherme Marconi does use it pretty tastefully however.

Well you’re not going to get inspiration from my writing so I might as well show you what he does. You can click the image for a bigger preview if you like.

Publised in IdeaFixa Magazine.

Computer Arts magazine cover.

Prototype for Absolut Brazil Project.

Atari: In my childhood, my first plan was to my day was to play atari.

Numbers: The reference for everything…

This is just a small collection his website is definitely worth taking a look at.

My idea is to create images like graphic deliriums, I got rid of all my colors, forms and repetitions compulsion, leaving aside the right and wrong ideas. So, my style is this: my compulsion for color, forms and repetitions.

His isn’t a unique style of course, there are always others who employ a similiar idea of using repetition to create a complex design. But his work is an excellent example of how good that style can be when you get it right.

I messed around recently around with a tutorial over at PSDTUTs that produced something similiar to this and came up with this.

Thanks

Well I hoped you enjoyed having a look at his work as much as I do. Hope you have a look at my other posts. Or keep track of me through one of these social services.
